Prospect House Vets are the first Vets in Wales to gain the RCVS award and they scored enough points in all the different areas to gain outstanding!
I feel very proud of this practice and their dedicated staff.
Director Ann Owen is wonderful to work with on their website and judging by the loyalty of their team with most staff having been there for over 20 years (!), their recent award is very well-deserved.
The inspector said :
The practice was started over 30 years ago by two of the current partners, with many of the team members having worked here, if not from the start but for a reasonable number of those years. This has provided great continuity for the team, for the local community and for the development of the practice.
The high quality of clinical work and care provided is of the first order, all the staff involved taking great pride in what the practice stands for but are still keen to keep developing.
The level of teamwork from all areas of the staff was excellent which allowed the short open surgeries first thing in the morning to run very successfully – the reception team are all communicating well and patiently with both the clients, many of whom were on first name terms, and the clinical team.
The clinical team are also supporting each other so that case continuity was maintained where needed whilst inpatient care continuity was also maintained, particularly with the transfer of information relating to the Vets Now patients seen at this clinic overnight.
A further demonstration of the willingness of the team to work together and support each other was the apparent ease with which a new computer system was introduced and the enthusiasm all the staff showed towards this big change.
The enthusiasm to use the system to the full by all the team is a credit to them.
